Second game in 48 hours for the Rossoblù: Sunday, September 20 at 4:00 PM on the ice of the Steinbach Black Wings Linz. After the 3-1 win in Innsbruck, Milano looks to build on it in its first season in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Live on DAZN.
No sooner have they celebrated their first win than they're back on the ice.
Following the 3-1 victory on the ice of HC Innsbruck, Milano continues its first weekend in the win2day ICE Hockey League with a road game in Linz.
It's a second game in under 48 hours for coach Doug Shedden's squad, who are looking to build on the encouraging signs from the first official game of the season.
FROM INNSBRUCK WITH THE FIRST THREE POINTS
Friday will remain a special night in the history of the red-and-blue club.
After a scoreless first period, American forward Blake McLaughlin scored the first goal in ICE Hockey League history in the second. His partnership with Caamano is working wonderfully: the two were also teammates last year in Norway, and they've found the ideal partner in Hannoun to complete a line that is clicking perfectly.
On the night in Tyrol, Michael Dal Colle also scored his long-awaited first goal, delivering an all-around performance worthy of his reputation. He also set up the third goal, scored by Cuglietta into an empty net.
It was a solid performance built from the ground up, starting with Jake Smith, who had a great night between the pipes: "An incredible night," the Italian-Canadian goaltender said right after the game, "just as incredible as the support we've had from the fans since day one. This club means a lot to many people, and we're all happy to be able to contribute to this rebirth. The first step is done. My performance comes down to the tremendous effort of all my teammates: blocked shots, finished checks and 'paying the price' physically. That's the key. But tomorrow is another day..."
TO LINZ FOR THE WEEKEND'S SECOND TEST
On the other side of the ice will be the Black Wings Linz, ready for their home debut after earning a point on the opening night.
On Friday, the Austrians lost 4-3 in overtime to Hydro Fehérvár AV19, in a game where they managed to erase a two-goal deficit in the third period. Lukas Lindner, Shawn St-Amant and Kyle Topping scored Linz's three goals, before Benjamin Zloty's game-winner in overtime.
Milano therefore arrives at the Linz AG Eisarena with the first three points in its history already on the board, but with very little time between the two games.
Coach Doug Shedden will assess the physical condition of all players at the morning skate following the Innsbruck game. Barring any changes in the final hours before the game, the red-and-blue lineup is expected to remain unchanged.
FIRST TIME ON DAZN
The Linz game will also mark another first for Milano.
Black Wings Linz–Milano HC will be the first Rossoblù game broadcast live on DAZN, as part of the agreement that will bring eight of the club's Regular Season games to the platform during the 2026/27 season.
The broadcast will be available free of charge, including for users without a DAZN subscription: LINK
Two days after a first night to remember, the journey continues.
Next stop: Linz.
