Wade Allison has chosen Milan to continue his career in Europe. With the addition of the former Philadelphia Flyers forward, the rossoblù offense gains further substance.
Nicknamed the "Big Red Train" by legendary Ron Hextall, for his red hair and the explosive physicality of his game, Allison brings to Milan's roster the traits of a modern power forward, able to attack the dangerous areas of the offensive zone with speed and boldness, creating opportunities both for himself and for his teammates.
Born on October 14, 1997 in Myrtle, Manitoba, Allison is a 188 cm, 95 kg right-shot winger, selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft (52nd overall).
After standing out in the USHL with the Tri-City Storm — with whom he won the 2016 Clark Cup, earning tournament MVP honours — Allison continued his development at Western Michigan University, one of the most competitive programs in U.S. college hockey. Over four NCAA seasons he recorded 45 goals and 52 assists in 106 games.
Joining the Philadelphia Flyers organization, he made his NHL debut in the 2020-21 season, immediately showing his potential with 7 points in his first 14 games. In total, he made 75 appearances in the National Hockey League with the Flyers, recording 22 points (13 goals).
Alongside his NHL career, Allison gained significant experience in the American Hockey League with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Milwaukee Admirals (102 appearances, 28 goals, 22 assists). Over the past two seasons he chose to cross the Atlantic, playing for Barys Astana in the KHL and the Straubing Tigers in the German DEL (27 appearances, 16 points last season). As of today, he is Milano Hockey Club's new number 19.
