Milano HC is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with Italian national team defenseman Gregorio Gios, who will wear jersey number 4 in the 2026/27 season, contributing to the club's historic debut in the win2day ICE Hockey League.
Born in Asiago on June 29, 1999, 183 cm and 92 kg, right-handed shot, Gios arrives in Milan at the peak of his athletic maturity, bringing a wealth of experience built at the highest levels of Italian hockey. A solid, reliable defenseman, he began his youth career in his native Asiago before moving to Finland, where spells with HIFK, Jokerit, and TUTO allowed him to test himself and refine his technical qualities in a competitive environment. After completing his junior pathway with a stint in the United States, he launched his professional career back in Italy, first with Bolzano in the EBEL/ICE league and then with Fassa in Alps Hockey League. In the 2021/22 season he decided to return to the Asiago plateau, where he spent five seasons split between Alps and the ICE Hockey League, closing out last year wearing the captain's "C" after a run that included one Alps Hockey League title, two Italian championships, and three Italian Super Cups. In 2024/25 he finished the season on loan to Val Pusteria for the playoffs.
Over his career, Gios has so far totaled 149 ICE Hockey League appearances with 15 points and 73 penalty minutes, along with 115 appearances in Alps Hockey League, recording 24 points and 190 penalty minutes. Internationally, he also has 14 Continental Cup appearances to his name.
Gios has been a fixture with the Italian national team since his under-18 days: after six appearances at the World Junior Championships, he made his debut with the Blue Team in the Top Division in 2021 and went on to play in the 2022 and 2026 editions as well, in addition to featuring in the 2023 Division I tournament. Counting both friendlies and official competitions, he has made 91 appearances for the national team.
