Milano announces the signing of Italian-Canadian forward Lucas Chiodo, Italian champion last season with Asiago.
Born in Churchill, a small rural community near Barrie, Ontario, on October 31, 1998, Chiodo (175 cm, 77 kg, shoots left) is a forward capable of playing both wing and centre. A quick and dynamic player, his ability to create offensive opportunities and his intensity across the entire attacking zone are his defining traits. Thanks to his career in Italian clubs, he is recognised by the IIHF as a domestic player — like his new teammates Saracino and Hannoun.
Hockey-raised in his hometown with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League, Chiodo boasts an outstanding junior career: 108 points in his final year alone, split between Barrie and the Ottawa 67's, who acquired him as a mid-season addition. Over four complete OHL seasons he totalled 262 points (96 goals, 166 assists) in 288 appearances.
He arrived in Europe in 2019 wearing the Fassa jersey in the Alps Hockey League, immediately making his mark as a point-scoring machine — 54 points in 42 games. His professional journey was briefly interrupted by the pandemic, during which he returned to Canada to play for the University of Guelph in the USports university championship. Back in Italy in December 2021 with Vipiteno, he continued his development at Merano, where he also established his Italian eligibility, before heading to Scotland for a stint in the Elite Ice Hockey League with the Fife Flyers, the historic franchise based in Kirkcaldy. Playing predominantly as a winger, he carved out a significant role and became a fan favourite: across league and cup competitions he scored 32 goals and recorded 65 assists in 128 appearances.
In the summer of 2025 came the return to the land of his family roots: with Asiago he enjoyed the best season of his career, closing with 75 points (29 goals, 46 assists) in 52 appearances across the Alps Hockey League and IHL Serie A, and the best plus/minus of the AlpsHL regular season (+34). The crowning moment: the Italian championship title won at the Arena Santa Giulia in Milan, defeating Renon in the final.
With the signing of Lucas Chiodo, Milano Hockey Club adds a versatile and technically gifted forward to its attack. He will wear number 37 in rossoblù.
