Following Nick Saracino and Greg McKegg, Milano Hockey Club announces the signing of another forward, Nick Caamano, who will wear number 11 in the roster available to coach Shedden.
Born in Ancaster, Canada, on September 7, 1998, Caamano arrives in Milan in the prime of his career, after gaining significant experience across the NHL, AHL and German DEL. He comes off the best offensive season of his career, with Vålerenga of Oslo in the top Norwegian league (19 goals and 14 assists in 45 appearances).
A 191 cm, 93 kg left-shot winger, Caamano was selected by the Dallas Stars in the 5th round of the 2016 NHL Draft (146th overall) after standing out in the Ontario Hockey League with the Plymouth Whalers, Flint Firebirds and Hamilton Bulldogs, with whom he played a leading role (22 playoff points) in winning the 2018 OHL championship.
After joining the Dallas Stars organization, he spent six seasons in North America, recording 40 appearances (3 points) in the National Hockey League — all with Dallas — including an appearance in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Over the course of his professional career he has totalled 261 appearances in the American Hockey League with the Texas Stars, for 104 points overall (48 goals, 56 assists), establishing himself as a complete forward able to combine physicality, tactical versatility and consistent offensive production. Beyond his on-ice qualities, Caamano also stood out in the United States for his strong character off the ice, reflected in his nomination for the AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding commitment to the local community and charitable organizations in Texas.
Over the past two seasons he chose to continue his career in Europe: first with Grizzlys Wolfsburg in the German DEL (35 appearances, 21 points), then, as noted, with Vålerenga in Norway.
