Milano is pleased to announce the signing of Italian defenseman Olmo Pietro Albis, who will wear rossoblù number 5 in the 2026-27 win2day ICE Hockey League season.
Born in 2004, 176 cm and 78 kg, shoots left, Albis is one of the most promising prospects in Italian hockey. Fresh from winning the Swiss League with HC Sierre and earning his first call-up to the senior national team, the young blue-liner arrives in Milan ready to make his mark in one of Europe's most competitive leagues.
Born in Pinerolo and raised in Torre Pellice, Albis took his first steps on the ice in the youth system of HC Valpellice Bulldogs. In 2018, at just 14 years of age, he chose to continue his development in Switzerland by joining the prestigious HC Ambrì-Piotta academy, where he completed his junior pathway and also obtained his Swiss licence. His senior debut came with the Bellinzona Rockets/Snakes, with whom he spent three seasons in the Swiss League, gaining experience against high-level opponents and establishing himself as one of the most promising young talents in the competition — earning call-ups to the Azzurri youth teams at both the Under-18 and Under-20 World Championships.
At the end of January 2026 came the call from HC Sierre: Albis quickly integrated into the group and contributed to the Swiss League title, closing the season with 51 appearances, 4 goals, 4 assists and 89 penalty minutes split between Bellinzona and Sierre. In total he has played 122 games in the second tier of Swiss hockey, recording 17 points.
His performances did not go unnoticed by the Italian national team coaching staff. In the spring of 2026 he was called up by head coach Jukka Jalonen for the preparation camp ahead of the World Championship, making his senior Azzurri debut in the friendly matches and marking the occasion with his first goal and first assist in 5 appearances.
