Milano announces the signing of American defenceman Wyatte Wylie ahead of the 2026-27 ICE Hockey League season. He joins Alex Grant and Tory Dello in a defensive corps that is taking shape.
Born on November 2, 1999 in Everett, Washington, Wylie (183 cm, 86 kg, shoots right) is a modern defenceman capable of combining defensive solidity with quality in the build-up phase. His quick first pass, vision of the game and effectiveness in special teams situations allow him to contribute across all phases of play.
His development unfolded in the Western Hockey League with his hometown Everett Silvertips, where he spent four seasons recording 165 points (34 goals, 131 assists) in 315 games. His performances made him the second-highest scoring defenceman in franchise history and earned him a place in the club's All-Decade Team. In the 2019-20 season he finished second among all WHL defencemen in points (64), first in assists (50) and first in power play points (35).
His junior career caught the attention of the Philadelphia Flyers, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft (127th overall).
After turning professional, Wylie spent three seasons in the American Hockey League with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He went on to gain further experience across the top North American professional circuits, playing for the Ontario Reign, Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Belleville Senators, Laval Rocket and Trois-Rivières Lions across the AHL and ECHL, totalling 63 points in 251 AHL appearances.
In November 2025 he chose to move to Europe, joining Jaromír Jágr's Rytíři Kladno in the top Czech league, where he closed the season with 35 appearances, 2 goals and 10 assists.
On the ice, Wylie is a two-way defenseman who stands out for his mobility, game-reading and reliability in puck management. His ability to join the attack without losing focus in his own zone makes him a complete profile well suited to a dynamic, modern style of hockey. He will wear number 94 in rossoblù.
